At Primary Care Dry Eye Clinic, we assess what is causing your dry eye symptoms and provide you with the best treatment options using the latest technology. Successful treatment is dependent upon a comprehensive evaluation that includes a detailed analysis of the tear film and a scan of the meibomian glands. Our doctors work with you to create a dry eye treatment plan customized specifically for you.
Our treatments are designed to address the underlying causes of Dry Eye Disease. Benefits may include: reduced vascular inflammation to the meibomian glands, anti-demodex and anti-bacterial effects which reduce biofilm and inflammation, reduction of chemical inflammatory factors on the eye and in the tear film, increased meibomian gland efficiency, as well as collagen tightening and aesthetic improvement of the periocular skin.
All patients with Alberta Health Care coverage, regardless of age, are now covered for medical eye care or emergency care visits at our office. Please call and inform our receptionist of the nature of your vision disturbance to ensure it will be covered (red eyes, sudden vision changes, sore eye).
All patients under the age of 19 years old and over the age of 64 are fully covered for a basic eye examination once a year. All office visits, urgent care, dilations, and threshold visual field testing are also covered with Alberta Health Care coverage. Advanced Testing is not covered by Alberta Health Care at this time.
